3 Recipients of personal data

As a matter of principle, we treat your personal data strictly confidential and only pass it on if you have expressly consented to this, if we are legally obliged or entitled to do so or if this is necessary to enforce our rights, in particular to enforce claims arising from the contractual relationship. In addition, we disclose your personal data to third parties to the extent that this is necessary or appropriate in the context of the use of the website or for the possible provision of the services requested by you (including outside the website).

We disclose your personal data to the following categories of recipients:

  • Companies of the group
  • business partners
  • service providers
  • subcontractors

It goes without saying that we comply with the legal regulations governing the transfer of personal data to third parties. If we use contractors to provide our services, we take appropriate legal precautions as well as corresponding technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of your personal data in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.

If the level of data protection in a country in which the data is processed does not comply with the applicable data protection regulations, we will contractually ensure that the protection of your personal data corresponds to that in Switzerland or the European Economic Area (EEA) at all times.

4 Type and duration of processing

We process personal data for the duration required for the respective purpose or purposes.
Insofar as statutory retention obligations exist, the personal data concerned will be stored for the duration of the retention obligation. After expiry of the retention obligation, a check is made as to whether there is a further need for processing. If there is no longer a need, the data will be deleted.

If we store the data based on a contractual relationship with you, this data will remain stored at least as long as the contractual relationship exists and at the longest as long as limitation periods for possible claims by us run or legal or contractual retention obligations exist.

5 Visiting our Website

When you visit our website, our servers temporarily store the following data in a log file, the so-called server log files:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • date and time of the request
  • time difference relative to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • content of request (actual page)
  • access status/HTTP status code

  • website from which the request comes
  • browser
  • operating system and its interface
  • language and version of the browser software.

We require this technical data to guarantee the use and operation of our website, in particular to display the website and to ensure the security and stability of the website, to optimize our offer and for internal statistical purposes and, thus, based on our legitimate interests. A personal user profile is not created. Furthermore, this data will not be passed on to third parties and no other evaluation will take place.

We erase your personal data as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose of its collection. In the case of the collection of your data for the provision of the website, this is the case when the respective session has ended.

6 Contacting us

If you contact us by e-mail, we process the data transmitted with the e-mail, such as your e-mail address, the subject of your contact and your message, for the purpose of processing and executing your request.

The basis for the processing of your personal data is our legitimate interest in processing your inquiry. If the establishment of contact serves the fulfilment of a contract to which you are a contracting party or the implementation of pre-contractual measures, this is an additional basis for the processing of your personal data.

You can object to this data processing at any time. Please send your objection to the e-mail address mentioned in info@umeo.ch and we will consider your request. In this case, your request will not be processed.

Your personal data will be deleted as soon as the request you made has been processed. This is the case if the circumstances show that the matter has been finally resolved and there is no legal obligation to retain the data.

7 Working at UMEO and its Group Companies

When you apply for a job with us, we process the personal data that we receive from you as part of the application process or that you enter or upload in the application form (for information on this, see section 8 “HR4YOU” application form). In addition to your personal details, education, work experience and skills, this includes the usual correspondence data such as e-mail address and telephone number. In addition, all documents submitted by you in connection with the application, such as CV, references etc., will be processed. This data will only be stored, evaluated, processed or forwarded internally as part of your application. Furthermore, they may be processed for statistical purposes (e.g. reporting). In this case, no conclusions can be drawn about individual persons.

The data may also be processed by other electronic means. This is particularly the case if you send us the relevant application documents, for example by e-mail.

Your application data is processed to fulfil our (pre-)contractual obligations within the scope of the application procedure.

You can object to this data processing at any time and withdraw your application. Please send your objection to the person named as contact person in the job advertisement.

If we conclude an employment contract with you, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions. If the application procedure ends without employment, your personal data will be stored for a further three months for documentation purposes and then deleted, unless you have given us permission to retain your details for further application procedures.

You have the option to revoke this consent at any time. You can send your revocation to info@umeo.ch or to the e-mail address stated in the job advertisement.

8 Application Form “HR4YOU”

In the context of applications and job placement, we use the HR4YOU applicant management system on our website, a Software-as-a-Service (Saas) solution provided by HR4YOU AG, Ul-barger Strasse 52, 26629 Grossefehn, Germany (“HR4YOU”).

The online application form is hosted on a domain operated by HR4YOU and the data collected from you is stored on HR4YOU servers in Germany.

In order to guarantee the security of your personal data, we have concluded an order processing contract with HR4YOU, which obliges HR4YOU, among other things, to comply with appropriate technical and organisational measures for your application documents. HR4YOU does not use your data for its own purposes and in particular does not pass them on to third parties.

Your data will be deleted if it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected and insofar as no legal or contractual retention periods prevent its deletion.

10 Data security

We use technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data that is incidental or collected, in particular against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against attack by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

The measures taken are intended to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data as well as the availability and resilience of our systems and services in the processing of your personal data on a permanent basis. They also ensure the rapid restoration of the availability of your personal data and access to it in the event of a physical or technical incident.

Our website is encrypted using SSL-/TLS technology to prevent access by unauthorised third parties. You can recognise secure transfer by the protocol ID «https://» in the URL.

Therefore, we cannot assume any liability for these external contents. The respective provider or operator of the pages is always responsible for the content of the linked pages.

Illegal contents were not recognizable at the time of linking. A permanent control and examination of the linked pages without concrete evidence of a violation of the law is not reasonable. Such links will be removed immediately upon becoming aware of any infringements.

12 Your rights

In principle, you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection to processing and revocation of consent regarding your personal data.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been violated in some way, you can also complain to the supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

For this purpose and for questions, suggestions, and requests, please contact info@umeo.ch.
